FANTASY FLASHBACK: Presidential Performance
From nypost.com Fantasy Tracker

I was not very high on Titans WR Nate Washington coming into this week, but boy did he prove me wrong by having his best game of the season and leading all other WRs in scoring this week.

Washington, Tennesseeas leading receiver, caught a game-high nine passes for 115 yards and two TDs.

Coming into Sunday, Washington hadnat caught more than five passes not topped the 70-yard mark in six weeks. Compare those numbers with those of Damian Williams, who despite not putting up ludicrous numbers, had scored in four of those weeks, and you can understand why I believed that Williams had become the bigger threat in the Titans passing attack.

Getty Images What I didnat expect was for QB Matt Hasselbeck to be forced from the contest with an elbow injury. It was when rookie QB Jake Locker entered the game that Washington saw the bulk of his production. With Locker at the helm, Washington caught four passes for 68 yards and both of his TDs.

Hasselbeck said today that he will start against Tampa Bay in Week 12, which means Washington may not get the same number of targets that he did from Locker. Hasselbeck is the best QB on the roster right now, and he tends to distribute the ball better, meaning that a drop in Washingtonas production should be expected.

Gronkowskias Greatness

For all of the talk that has surrounded Wes Welker, the Patriots have another receiver who has been just as productive, if not more, than the NFLas leader in yardage and receptions.

Rob Gronkowski currently leads all tight ends with 10 TDs and depending on your scoring format, is likely the top ranked player at his position as well.

Gronkowski has topped the 90-yard receiving mark in four straight games and has scored at least one TD in each of his last three contests, making him one of the top targets in the high-octane New England passing offense.

REUTERS Now while Gronkowski trails Welker by over 200 yards and nearly 20 receptions, when you look each of their stat lines over the past four games, it becomes clear that Gronkowski is the better player, at least in terms of fantasy.

Since Week 7:

Welker: 23 catches, 243 yards, 0 TDs.

Gronkowski: 27 catches, 404 yards, 5 TDs.

In addition to that, if you look at the position that Gronkowski plays and the dropoff in production when you go from him (and Saints TE Jimmy Graham) to the next tier of player, his value becomes even more glaring.

In standard scoring leagues, it is likely that Gronkowski is hovering near the 150-point mark, with Jimmy Graham around 130 and Jason Witten around 100. To put that into context, Welker isnat even the highest scoring WR, Detroitas Calvin Johnson is (standard-scoring, non-PPR).

Running into a wall

The injury bug has stuck once again, taking out Buffalo RB Fred Jackson (out) and Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (uncertain).

AP Peterson and Jackson join a long list of running backs that have missed time this season, and in many cases, their absence has the ability to cripple a fantasy team.

Here are some of the RBs who have missed at least one game due to injury:

Arian Foster (Hou), Jamaal Charles (KC), Darren McFadden (Oak), Ahmad Bradshaw (NYG), Steven Jackson (StL), Rashard Mendenhall (Pitt), Peyton Hillis (Cle), Felix Jones (Dal), LeGarrette Blount (TB), Jahvid Best (Det) and Ryan Mathews (SD).

Whatas scary about all of these injuries is that all of those players were ranked in the top 65 (Yahoo! Preseason) and now Jackson and Petersonas ailments can be especially debilitating considering that they may miss more than just Week 12.

In the interim, C.J. Spiller and Toby Gerhart will take the majority of the snaps at running back for the Bills and Vikings, respectively.

MC10 has tapped Tennessee Titans quarterback Matt Hasselbeck and several other pro-athletes to form a Sports Advisory Board (SAB) to help it develop the next version of its athletic performance monitoring devices.
