FANTASY FLASHBACK: Houston, We Have A Problem
From nypost.com Fantasy Tracker

The Texans have been bitten by the injury bug once again, this time losing QB Matt Schaub to a season-ending foot injury. After losing WR Andre Johnson and RB Arian Foster for periods of time this season, the Schaub injury means QB Matt Leinart will take the reins for the remainder of the 2011 season.

Schaub owners wonat have to deal with his injury immediately because the Texans are on a bye this week, but come Week 12, there will be a hole to be filled at the QB position.

Getty Images Schaubas injury will also be felt throughout the Texansa offense, which is expected to get Johnson back in Week 12. With Schaub out, I believe there will be added emphasis on the running game, which has been phenomenal with Foster and Ben Tate shouldering the load. However, the increased attention to the running game works both ways, and opposing defenses will certainly be stacking the box and daring the Foster/Tate combo to beat them.

Johnsonas stock also may take a bit of a hit due to Leinartas inability to throw the deep ball. Leinart has struggled in his five-year career and will likely be checking down to his running backs and tight ends for short passes.

There is no denying that Schaub will be difficult to replace, but there are options out there.

One player I like as a potential Schaub replacement is Raiders QB Carson Palmer, who has thrown for 631 yards and five TDs over his past two games.

Palmer struggled in his first game with Oakland, throwing three interceptions, but he has since picked up the offense and has a familiar target in TJ Houshmanzadeh to throw to. Factor in that Oaklandas next four games come against pass defenses ranked 25th or lower, and Palmer is a very strong addition for teams looking to replace Schaub.

If The Shoe Fitz

Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald led all WRs in scoring last week (non-PPR) with seven catches for 146 yards and two TDs (which nearly became three).

Fitzgerald has been red-hot lately, catching three of his five TDs over the past two games. Fitzgerald has also been targeted more times over the past two games (12, 13) than he has all season. For all of the complaining that Fitzgerald did in the offseason, asking the Cardinals front office to trade for a franchise QB, the star WR has done his best with Fordham Alum John Skelton at the helm.

Getty Images Skelton may once again get the nod as the starting QB, despite Kevin Kolb making his return to practice this week (limited). Skelton appears to look for his star wideout more than Kolb does, so when he starts itas a boost for Fitzgerald owners.

Regardless of who starts, seeing as Fitzgerald is currently ranked sixth in the NFL with 792 receiving yards and third with 17.6 YPC (25+ receptions), he is still a must-start in any format.

Titanic Comeback

Finally, after weeks and weeks of disappointments, Titans RB Chris Johnson performed like the first-round pick we all thought he was coming into 2011.

Johnson, who has been single-handedly killing fantasy teams all season, put together his best game of the year with 174 combined yards (130 rushing, 44 receiving) and a TD.

Getty Images If you look carefully enough though, Johnsonas return to form had been coming along slowly but surely. Johnson has watched his production increase in each of the past four weeks, going from a meager 45 total yards to last Sundayas 174-yard game. Johnson has also had his best two weeks in terms of yards per carry, averaging 4.4 and 4.6 in Weeks 9 and 10, respectively.

Assuming Johnson can continue to play like the former 2,000-yard rusher that he is, and he can take advantage of favorable matchups against the Saints, Colts and Jaguars in Weeks 14-16, he can make up for his slow start during most league’s playoff weeks.
